OK, this has easily got to be among the very top coolest "it's complicated" first cameo appearance backstories in all of comics: artists Bissette & Totleben wanted to draw a character physically based upon Sting (the singer) and drew him for the first time in this issue (#25) as an unspeaking background character in a single panel, then said to writer Alan Moore, quote, "You better do something with him, because we're not going to stop drawing him!"
